Yoda and Mary have more in common than you would think.
Thirty-five years ago I stood in line at the Arcada Theatre eagerly awaiting the release of the first Star Wars movie. I watched, mouth agape, as the credits scrolled down the screen, never believing that I would be standing in the same theater decades later presenting my own feature film. Ours is not about a princess, but a Queen – not about Jedi Knights, but Apostles.
Full of Grace is our first feature film after years of focusing on short video content for the young church. We made the leap into feature film production in order to expand our mission of bringing an encounter with Jesus Christ to the wider church. Pope Francis’ words of “encounter” have been our constant guide as we use the dominant art form of today to reach modern man and draw him into a dialogue with the ultimate source of life. We are merely the instruments helping people encounter the Father, and with every screening, meeting and discussion we are in awe of the miracles happening all around us. Yoda said, “Do or do not, there is no try” and Mary said, “Be it done unto me according to thy word.” We find our selves comfortably living between these two statements.
